CENTRE FOR CAREER DEVELOPMENT

The Centre for Career Development and Student Counseling was officially established by a decision of the Council of the University of Belgrade in December 2006. The major goal of the Centre is to create a connection between the employers and the recently graduated students, to develop the awareness among students about modern-days requirements. Students need to develop practical skills and increase capabilities in order to be prepared for the rapidly changing labour market. The Centre is here to assist students to develop skills and knowledge relevant for employment, to gain work experience during the studies, to learn about the business world and its rules, as well as to think about options in a constructive way, in order to be prepared for the next step, after graduation. The Centre promotes students and graduates of Belgrade University as future experts in different areas of business and promotes the University of Belgrade as a leading institution of higher education in the region.

SUPPORT IN SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

Providing an effective system of support for students and graduates to help them develop knowledge and skills important for finding a job or continuing education

SUPPORT IN GAINING WORK EXPERIENCE

Increasing the number of students and graduates who have gained relevant work experience during their studies or immediately after graduation

DEVELOPING COOPERATION AMONG ALL FACULTIES AND UNIVERSITY

Developing cooperation among all the faculties at the University of Belgrade and strengthening the integrative role of the University

PROMOTION OF STUDENTS AND GRADUATES

Promotion of students and graduates of the University of Belgrade as future experts in different business areas and promotion of the University of Belgrade as the leading institution of higher education in the region 

SUPPORT FOR FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS

Providing support for future students and first-year students at the University of Belgrade to prepare for studies, prepare for a new environment, successfully start studies and progress in the higher education system

INFORMATION ABOUT THE CENTRE

  1. Working on development of student’s capabilities; knowledge and practical skills relevant for employment; 
  2. Providing information for students on various opportunities: additional education, internship, job and other career opportunities during the studies and upon graduation;
  3. Providing information for students on various scholarships and financial aid programs in the country and abroad, as well as referring to relevant higher education institutions and foundations; 
  4. Connecting students and employers through internship programs and trainings in the leading companies and organizations in the country for the purpose of potential employment; 
  5. Organizing presentations of the companies, and of their business ethics and employment policy; 
  6. Organizing lectures and workshops on the topics of transferable skills in cooperation with experts from the business world;  
  7. Providing counseling services for students with dilemmas about their career choice or positioning on the labour market upon graduation; 
  8. Conducting the workshops and lectures on career management skills; 
  9. Provision of psychosocial support services to students from underrepresented groups in higher education in cooperation with faculties and other relevant institutions; 
  10. Promoting the value and advantages of studies to secondary schools from underrepresented groups in higher education cooperation with faculties and other relevant institutions; 
  11. Coordinating work of the existing Career Centres at faculty level; 
  12. Cooperation with faculties and other centers of the University of Belgrade in developing institutional measures that contribute to equal opportunities during enrollment and during studies, primarily for students from underrepresented groups in higher education
