PROFESSIONAL ETHICS COMMITTEE

In order to preserve the dignity of the academic profession, promote moral values, safeguard the value of knowledge, and raise awareness of the responsibilities of all members of the University community, the Senate of the University of Belgrade adopted the Code of Professional Ethics of the University of Belgrade.

The process of determining violations of the Code and developing ethical standards involves the Dean, the Teaching and Research Council, the Ethics Committees of the University’s constituent institutions, the Professional Ethics Committee, and the Ethics Committee of the University.

Members of the Professional Ethics Committee are appointed by the Senate of the University upon the proposal of the Rector. The Committee consists of seven members: four members from among the academic staff, one representing each of the four scientific fields; one member from among researchers holding a research title; one student representative; and one representative from among faculty secretaries. A deputy is appointed for each member of the Committee.

The term of office of the Committee members is four years, and members may be reappointed. The mandate of the student representative is one year.

The Professional Ethics Committee operates in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Ethics Committees and the Professional Ethics Committee of the University of Belgrade and the Regulations on the Determination of Non-Academic Conduct in the Preparation of Written Works.
