Collaboration between academic institutions is a powerful driver of innovation, knowledge exchange, and the broadening of academic horizons. A significant step in this direction has recently been taken through a new initiative between the University of Belgrade (Serbia) and the Poznań University of Life Sciences (Poland).
Professor Joanna Kobus-Cisowska (Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition, Poznań, Poland) and Professor Ivan Zlatanović (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Serbia) have jointly contributed to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between their respective institutions. This agreement lays the foundation for a range of collaborative activities, including joint research projects, academic and student exchanges, and the organisation of workshops, seminars, and interdisciplinary studies.
The partnership will place particular emphasis on projects that integrate gastronomy, functional foods, agricultural engineering, and technological innovation in food production. These initiatives have the potential to generate significant advances in both research and practical applications within the sector.
For the Department of Agricultural Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, this MoU represents a valuable opportunity to expand research capacity and strengthen its international presence. Likewise, the Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition at the Poznań University of Life Sciences will benefit from deepening its cooperation with one of the leading institutions in the region, fostering scientific exchange and shared development.
Importantly, this Memorandum of Understanding offers benefits that extend beyond the participating departments, encompassing all faculties of both universities. It represents a strong commitment to collaborative education, research, and international partnership, marking a significant step toward sustainable and long-term academic cooperation that will benefit students, researchers, and the wider scholarly community.
