Most of the Institute activities are directed towards fundamental research in molecular biology, molecular genetics, the technology of recombinant DNA, and biotechnology. In the area of fundamental research, the institute projects are mostly directed towards the researches related to the genome analysis and the regulation of gene expression of various organisms. IPST partly realizes its activities through biotechnological and commercial aspects of human and veterinary medicine, agriculture, food production and pharmaceutical industry.
